Voluntary work

Our youth hostels offer everyone the opportunity to do voluntary work with us. Voluntary work has the advantage of offering numerous and varied tasks, so that you can really feel part of the family in the hostel where you are hosted. In exchange for a few hours of work each week, you will receive accommodation, food and laundry services, in a lively environment with plenty of opportunities to meet new people !

Here is a non-exhaustive list of what volunteers may be involved in at Youth Hostels :

- Working in the bar or restaurant ;
- Washing up ;
- Laundry ;
- Housekeeping ;
- Logistics at special events (concerts, exhibitions, etc.) ;
- Entertainment ;
- … and much more.

If you are dynamic, motivated and a good all-rounder, don’t waste another minute : come and join us ! For more information (duration, tasks, voluntary work agreement, etc.) and to submit your application, contact the Youth Hostel of your choice directly, by visiting the contact page.

Please note ! Some Youth Hostels have specific requirements regarding voluntary work. Feel free to contact them in advance to avoid any disappointments :

Jacques Brel :

- 18 hours of work per week ;
- Voluntary work placement of three months.

Liège :

18 hrs work per week on average
Voluntary work placement length :
- During the school year : minimum 4 months, maximum 1 year.
- During the summer holidays : minimum 3 months

The Youth Hostel receives a fair number of CVs and unfortunately does not always have the time to reply ; nevertheless, all CVs are kept so we can re-contact potential candidates as soon as a placement opens up.

Namur :

- Maximum of five working days per week ;
- Rota established according to the hostel schedule.

Mons :

- The hostel hosts volunteers primarily between March and June, or failing that between September and December.

Malmedy :

- The hostel hosts volunteers throughout the year except in January, November and December.

Champlon :

- The hostel particularly looks for volunteers who are "nature lovers", those who like walking in the woods and would like to be in a more remote location, away from towns ;
- The hostel hosts volunteers from the beginning of April until the end of October.

Bouillon :

- The hostel hosts volunteers from June until September.
